Pastor Scott and Cheryl Olson
Pastor Scott Olson was born and raised in a small town on the coast of Maine. He learned the importance of hard work, honesty, character, and community at a young age. Those traits remain an important part of his personality and ministry.
After serving five years in the military, Scott met his wife, Cheryl. They were not raised in church or around church people but they both know what it means to be forgiven from sin and gloriously saved by Jesus Christ. They became Christians in their late twenties. They soon became active members of the First Church of the Nazarene in Bangor, Maine.
Shortly after becoming a Christian, Scott answered a clear call from God to be a minister of the gospel. As he began his studies, he learned what the Bible taught about entire sanctification and heart holiness. God created a hunger in his heart for something deeper and shortly thereafter, he experienced the infilling of the Holy Spirit and was sanctified entirely by God’s grace.
The Olsons have led Nazarene churches on the Maine, Indianapolis, New England, Eastern Kentucky, and Southwestern Indiana districts. They have three adult children and three grandchildren, all of whom have a relationship with the Lord and are serving Him in the church.
In addition to his passion for the gospel of Jesus Christ, Pastor Scott is also a professional photographer specializing in fine art black and white.
